Architecture, interiors and construction, developed as one.

Monotypic exists to deliver residential projects with clarity, precision and intent.

High-end homes demand more than good design. They require technical rigour and construction intelligence to be embedded from the outset. By unifying design, technical resolution and construction into a single process, we ensure the original vision is carried through in full — without dilution, compromise or reinterpretation.

Design + Construction. Unified.

Modernist Cantilevered House-in St-Ives, Cornwall

From concept sketch to final detail

Barn Elevation Concept Sketch

Our work is unified not only at the point of design, but throughout the entire life of a project.

Architecture, interiors, engineering, M&E and construction remain connected from the earliest concepts through to completion on site. This continuity allows decisions, adjustments and refinements to be made in real time — with full understanding of design intent, cost and buildability.

During construction, details often evolve. Conditions reveal themselves. Client priorities may shift. Because design and delivery sit within the same team and BIM model, changes are resolved immediately — without delays, reinterpretation or loss of precision.

Precision maintained, even under pressure

Minimal architecture relies on accuracy. Junctions, tolerances and alignments leave little room for approximation.

On many projects, critical decisions are made on site by contractors — often without the client’s knowledge — and only become visible once it is too late to correct them. Our integrated structure prevents this erosion of intent.

Design authorship, technical knowledge and construction control remain aligned, ensuring that key decisions are made consciously, with full awareness of their architectural, structural and spatial importance.

Read Our Approach

One integrated vision. From architecture to interiors to construction.

We design and deliver as a single process, so the home that is built reflects the one that was intended — without dilution or reinterpretation.

When architecture, interiors and construction are developed together, decisions are clearer, outcomes are more predictable and quality is protected.

If you engage with our approach, you can be confident that the home delivered will reflect the vision agreed — inside and out.

Our approach is to build digitally first which allows you to experience your project in 3D to help inform your decisions, thus minimising risk and providing clarity for you and your contractors.

"Being able to walk through both designs in 3D really helped me make the right decision, and it wasn't the one I first picked from the plans. Truly amazing!" Adrian - Private Client

Frequently asked questions

To assist, we have provided some few answers to a few frequently asked questions below:

No. While many clients engage us for full design and construction delivery, our process is structured in defined stages. This allows clients to progress through design and planning independently, with the option to continue through construction where aligned.

Because design, technical resolution and construction remain integrated within one team, decisions made on site are informed by the original design intent. This continuity protects precision, particularly in minimal and detail-led architecture.

Our passion and aim is to deliver high quality interiors and architectural designs that exceed our clients expectations. Our model suits clients who value clarity, accountability and long-term quality. It may not be the right fit for projects driven primarily by lowest cost or short-term outcomes.

Our approach is not driven by lowest initial cost, but by long-term value.

By resolving complexity early, coordinating decisions and maintaining continuity through construction, we reduce inefficiency, rework and costly late-stage changes. For many clients, this results in a more controlled overall outcome — both financially and experientially — compared to fragmented procurement routes.

Where appropriate, we collaborate with independent Quantity Surveyors to provide additional validation and oversight.

Crucially, their role is informed by direct visibility of our actual material specifications, labour inputs and construction methodology — rather than abstract estimates or generic benchmarks. This allows cost advice to be grounded in how the project will be built in practice, not simply how it appears on paper.

Our role is to ensure that cost guidance remains aligned with the technical and architectural realities of the project, so that budgets reflect real delivery rather than theoretical assumptions.

A clearer way to begin

Whether you’re at design stage or considering a complete design and construction path, an initial conversation can bring clarity early.
